Hi all, I've been hard at work the last few months on various projects. Among other things, I'm working on a collection of Short Stories akin to those found in my Writing section. It's a type of writing I haven't done much of in a while as I've focussed on longer (and consumer-friendlier, haha) works. I hope to have a collection ready by the end of this season, of five to seven stories. For the most part I'm keeping them under wraps but I finished this one last night and I'm very excited about it. It's based on an idea I had going back years but never felt I had it in me to execute until now. I'm probably not going to promote it widely until thefull set is done, but I thought I would give you fine people a glimpse at what I've been up to The story is called " Pieces of Crystal." It's under 3000 words long so you don't have to worry about setting aside a huge chunk of your day to read it. It's not the most TG thing I've ever written, but it still falls under that umbrella and lives up to my ambition to push the boundaries of what I can write and what my readers will read. I hope you will enjoy it an appreciate it for what it is and what I was trying to do. Because I haven't "published" it yet, feedback is also welcome! Thanks and be kind!

We’re in the ‘public’ part of the forum, so I hope everyone will be kind, as you say. Lovely story; really well told.
Two little things to look at.

The hazard of a typo being a proper word, and I suspect there's some kind of auto-correct on this computer that I haven't tamed yet Will have to proofread my new stories thoroughly before I put them into the wider world. Thank you for your encouraging words!

That was really good Liam, I was not expecting that ending. Possibly this is as a result of making B's corrections you now have "fell in hopelessly love", where I assume you wanted to say "fell hopelessly in love"
Anna xx
PS If you ever want anything proof reading just let me know.

Hello all! At long last, my collection of short stories, BEYOND OURSELVES is available to download at Amazon Kindle and Smashwords! It contains seven short stories examining gender/bodily transformation and identity, including "Pieces of Crystal" above (and hopefully no typos) I hope that folks who have enjoyed my work in the past will be interested to see what I do with this format. If you know my other short stories, I think you will not only enjoy these, but be surprised by some of the directions I go, as I tried to explore a lot of different ground. You can read a bit more about it here: liamslade.com/writing/beyond-ourselves-stories/Amazon.com link: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTVY2W2RSmashwords Link: www.smashwords.com/books/view/1516674Enjoy, be kind, and let me know what you think!

As a fun little note, I have made the decision to make my 2022 novella The Princess Awakening available for free. I was reading it back the other day and thought. "This is nice, and different, and not a lot of people took me up on it." I think it was "neither fish nor fowl" for a lot of TG readers, but I was trying something and I'm still proud of it (as I am everything that goes out to the world with my name on it.) So if you were one of the people who bought it in 2022, I thank you for your support and I hope you enjoyed it. If you have never read it yet, I hope you might now! * Free PDF from my site * Free on Smashwords (no longer on Amazon Kindle) * Submitted to Fictionmania (doubt it will be popular there but who knows!) liamslade.com/writing/the-princess-awakening/

Just downloaded a copy from SW: no idea when I'll get around to reading it, though - barely got time to breath at the moment.

New story alert! An idea grabbed me today so I went with it. What if you got a letter one day informing you that you were only renting your body... and payment was due? Check out "The Rental" here: liamslade.com/writing/the-rental/And don't forget, if you like my stories, my collection Beyond Ourselves -- along with various other works -- is available for purchase!

Enjoyed it very much!
One thing I like about many of your stories is that the protagonists don’t always end up being 20 something “hot chicks”. Curvy older women who like hamburgers exist too (raises hand 😂)
Joking aside, societal expectations and body image issues are a huge part of the “female experience” and I’m glad to see them getting a nod in your works.

Maddy said it better than I, but yeah... what she said. This is a facet of transgender fiction that deserves attention, and you did it splendidly.
Edit: I recommended the story on my blog. Maybe it'll drive some readers your way.

I consider body positivity to be one of my personal values ("All bodies are good bodies") and try to represent that in my work. Plus, when you've written as many stories as I have, they can't *all* be about hot people. It gets boring!!
