Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm a non-outwardly-expressing, non-binary person with male and female sides. I used to be very out as a CD back in the early 90's, when CDs were still considered to be under the TG umbrella. When did we get kicked out anyway? That's a hot button topic for me if you couldn't tell. The label that best describes me is androgyne. I haven't outwardly expressed my fem side in around 25 years now, but the feelings are still there with me every day. These days I feed the girl inside me with good transgender fiction (when I can find it) and occasionally writing some of my own. I have 3 stories posted on FictionMania, and a few dozen more in various stages of development, most of them only in my head.
I guess I'm looking for inspiration to continue my writing.

Hi Stephanie, I don't really get involved in gender politics - I'm someone who believes you are what you are and labels are for other people who want to try and put you in a box.
As to inspiration, the best thing to do is just write something and see if it works (at least that's what I do anyway). I hope that some of my stuff is liked by my audience. There is plenty of TG writing talent here who can provide help and advice for you. Different people do things different ways. Many like to plan out the story in advance, some love to have detailed character backstories. I like to write and see where things are going (with just a idea for a goal in mind).
Hope you find yourself at home here.
Kat

Hi Stephanie, Welcome aboard, it's always good to get new people involved here. I'm with Kat on the political side, be who you're comfortable being. There's good writing support and inspiration here. Just post something when you're ready and people will help you with it. Have fun. Tanya.

Hello Stephanie,
I remember your hypnosis story. It was an interesting take on the subject though I had ambivalent feelings about the characters and their actions. I guess they deserved each other in a way. In any case I also recall the bathroom story coming at a time when bathroom bills were the TG battleground otherwise known as the 'politics of poop' - to me anyway. I have my own personal anecdote about that I might share one day. Glad you joined but don't feel obligated to pet the Kat. She's too spoiled as it is.

I've just joined the forum. I transitioned 20 odd years ago and have chaired a number of trans and LGBT organisations. I'm still actively involved in the community mainly as a counsellor and volunteer going into schools to talk about homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying. Since retiring in 2015 I've started writing and have just published my debut novel "Summer Dreams" on Amazon. I've posted the first chapter on my website as a taster so anyone can read it free of charge (and, hopefully, get hooked so they buy the whole novel :-) ). www.helendaleauthor.info/25summerdreamshome.htmlI've got three other books on Amazon as well - all detailed on my website. I'm also publishing an apocalyptic post-brexit story "Aftermath" in instalments on the website (which, unusually, doesn't feature any trans characters) as well as the draft of an opening chapter of a novel "Busted Flush" that looks at what could happen if a group of ex-special forces trans individuals decided to protect the community from the current transphobic White House administration. I'd be very interested in joining the Transcripts website as an author - how can I do this?

A warm welcome to our newest member, Maryanne. I'm sure many of you will be familiar with her contributions to FM if not, I can highly recommend both 'Neuron Transfer' and 'Second Life', the latter being a particularly powerful story.
