Right, before I finish the flagon and succumb to the ensuing inebriation, here's a book: If I Was Your Girl
I've only two words to say about this novel: Read it.

Glad you liked it, Tanya; there are in fact two sequels. 'Rosebud', the second of them, returns to the darker theme if I recall correctly. I too prefer a happy ending, but good writing's good writing. If I hadn't come to appreciate that, I might still be dismissive of 'magic' tales

I just read Rosebud as well. When I went through Xoyo's back catalogue I realised I'd read his first story a long time ago when I first found Fiction mania. Makes me wonder what he or she is doing now. Happy I hope.

After having this downloaded to my Kindle for a time I have finally managed to read "The Candi Cane Club" by Tanya Allen and thoroughly enjoyed the whole book.
Now I have the follow up book "Dead End" to read.
If you have not had the opportunity take a look at her work available on Amazon

A lot of her stories are still available freely on BC. Some of the writing is a little stilted in my humble opinion, but those that I've read have been entertaining enough.

I've only two words to say about this novel: Read it. I am half way through this now. It's very intense, I can hardly bear to read it as I am constantly expecting the worse for Amanda. Beyond that, what a beautifully written story. It's well worth a read.

I have just finished this. It blew me away, very powerful writing and a lovely story with a perfect ending. Well worth a read. What I also loved was the author's postscript which came from the heart and resonated. Thanks for the recommendation. Tanya.

I found this on Amazon last night (free, yippee!) and read it from start to finish. There are one or two flaws in the story, but on the whole a pretty good read. Blonde boy, red lipstick
