Interesting. Thanks, Bryers.
I have to say, I much prefer stories in print or e-book form: that way, I can read them while I'm thinking up excuses for not gardening, decorating or whatever (a common one being "I'm just finishing this chapter, love.").

Tumbling Down by Walter Marks is currently available for zero pounds, zero pence on the Brazilian Brook (the UK site, anyway): not too shabby a read.

I'm pretty sure I've got that tucked away somewhere. Might even get to read it one day...

Not too shabby: CrossingFor those not in the UK, it's by Stacey Wallace. This is currently available FOC again. Not a bad read by any means.

Freebies. Since we occasionally get visitors who only browse the public parts and not the members’ area, I’ll post a link here: bryonymarsh.wordpress.com/selected-stories/The page includes a copy our free novel, ‘Gamer Girl’ (also on Smashwords in other formats).

Tumbling Down by Walter Marks is currently available for zero pounds, zero pence on the Brazilian Brook (the UK site, anyway): not too shabby a read. I finally got around to reading this, having “acted upon information received” (that’s me doing a police procedural style) and downloaded it two years ago. The transgender character is the murder victim. We see the detective learning about modern, alternative takes on gender and sexuality as he bumbles his way through the investigation, but it felt a little bit stodgy to me. Casting your transgender character as the corpse seems very dated: we don’t need victims, but role models – or that’s what I’m hoping for, from the literature of the 21st century. Even so, as the prostitute said to the leper: “Thanks for the tip.”
