I dunno. I just found it all completely impenetrable and baffling. And there’s no technophobe like a tranny technophobe, amirite?
Maybe I just had a blonde moment – although if so it’s lasted all day, ever since I created my BigCloset identity. Bloody poor user interface, that.
Meh. Whatever. Story in place: let’s see what happens.

I tried to set up an account but at the last minute it came up with a "couldn't send email- try again later" message. So I tried later and it told me the account already existed but I couldn't log in because they hadn't sent me a password. No problem I request a new password, email comes through with a link to click on - but when I do it says "Access is Denied", I am not allowed in that part of the site... I left it for a few days and had another go at requesting a new password, "couldn't send email- try again later" message returns. Helpfully it says contact admin if problem persists. But I can't see a contact us link on the site. Tranny Technophobe number 2?

Hmm, I don't know about 'technophobe' issues - they don't seem to be doing themselves any favours, do they?

That they don’t... but as far as I know it’s a project staffed by volunteers, so what the hey? Just... that bloody screen layout with all the banners and stuff: yikes.

I'll be in the minority here and say that, at least as far as readability goes, it's better than FM. Maybe I'm just inured to banner ads.

Managed to get my account sorted out and published 'For Love' on there. Let's see what happens.

I enjoy both FM and BC sites, but for different reasons. Fm is easier to post, but errors are more easily corrected on BC. Fm is easier to search for stories, but I like the aesthetics of how my stories appear on BC(Once I edited it a few times AFTER i post it)...
Bry, it IS a pain at first getting the hang of of the BC posting debacle, but I quickly got used to it within 3-4 postings.
The thing I really like more about BC... I've yet to get any, "Put her in stockings", or "The story would be better with sex in it" comments..

I have registered an account on Big Closet and noticed that you can set your account to turn off loads of the ads, so that's something anyway. I have made a first little step.

Managed to get my account sorted out and published 'For Love' on there. Let's see what happens. That’s one hell of a big freebie you shared, there. I don’t write stories that extend to novel length anyway, but if I did I don’t think I’d be able to put one out in public like that. To quote Andrew Ryan, “Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?” Well, apparently not. Anyway, I’m gonna copy-paste that one into a Word document, and take it with me on my travels. So thanks! My next destination is one where possession of “pornography” (their choice as to what constitutes porn, apparently) can lead to deportation – so I sure as heck won’t be visiting Fictionmania while I’m away. Hey, thanks Katerina!
I particularly appreciate the comment “cool ending.”
In contrast to Karen Lockhart’s “Keep posting this wonderful story.” Seriously – what planet are there people on?
‘Three Steps’ will go live on Fictionmania tomorrow as well. Interesting to compare the reader numbers on the two.

I hope you enjoy it Bryony. If people like the freebie they may buy the others and as they're potentially a new market it's worth the sacrifice.
