I reckon, for whatever reason, my stories just don't get reviews, bad or good. Of the two stories I posted on BC 'For Love' the full length novel has just shy of 1400 reads and 3 comments (one of which was a copy and paste of a comment from FM) and 'The Demon' a short story has just over 750 reads with just one comment.
Do I need to change something to improve? Is it important to get people riled up enough to make them comment?

Well I enjoyed The Demon and For Love and left comments on BC.
Your stories and writing are excellent if readers are unable to appreciate the subjects and topics you write about its their problem.
Everyone here has much higher standards and are above the slutty way the majority of Transgender Stories are generalized into sissy slaves, maids and cum sluts, bimbos who are not allowed to be themselves.
There is a lot of room for the stories we prefer that show being transgender is not a perversion.
If you do not have "sissy" "maid" "slave" etc in the title or synopses the reader is likely not to even open the story.
Their loss our Victory

Very well put, Sam, I couldn't agree with you more.

Plus you might have 1400 reads for the full length novel but alas many probably downloaded it and haven't actually read it yet. I'm surprised the shorter one hasn't gotten more comments yet .... but what Sam said is probably right.

If it makes you feel any better, your last one has more views than the last three of my postings. I'm at 550 views on the one I posted on the third of last month... Then again mine is not a pleasurable one to read, so I guess I should be glad I have that many lol.

I suppose it's a desire to know what people think. I don't mind if it's "what a load of crap" just something. I'm sure if people thought they were crap nobody would read them anymore but I still check to see anyone has said anything. Constructive criticism is the best and I only get that from people on here.

The only downside to our own little club here is that I’ll never hear the end of it if I decide to ‘sell out’ and do something that’s shamelessly commercial. By which I mean something abusive that involves the central character squeezing into a maid’s outfit and sucking off his wife’s new lover.
Sorry: shouldn’t even entertain the idea but I could use a couple of thousand quid about now...

You've plagiarised the entire plot of my new story!

Anna, for what it's worth, I thought your stories were excellent and will second what everyone else has said. FM and BC have descended into slut/slave/whore territory and anyone who tries to transcend that is not going to get the hits and comments they deserve. Don't get me wrong - as Lizzy will attest, I am a comment junkie like no other. I've come to realize that my stories may not be what the people on there want. It hurts but what can you do?
Bryony, thank you for an image that I can't erase. :-)

It would appear that posting a single chapter might be the way to go. In just over 48 hours chapter one of 'Time to Pay' has had over 1350 reads, 4 comments (it says 5 but one is a repeater) and 73 thumbs up. Fewer reads than For Love but same number of comments already and more kudos.

Yeah I thought shorter pieces would do better Anna.

I often think how many reads and kudos the story receives may depend on the day and time it is posted.
Posting Monday to Thursday or even Friday for many its a work day an not a lot of time to leave a comment let alone read the story properly.
Saturday and Sunday may have more to time to relax with less pressure.
I will have to test that as its just a thought.

Ah. Big Closet! I joined 13 years ago. Back then there was a very large spider sat just inside the closet door. If you peeked in to put something away the spider would devour it and spit out venomous advice and offer to proof-read your future stuff. The implication was the spider was so much cleverer and better at telling stories than you.
I commented once that the requests for money were a bit wearing and excessive; I ran my own website then for pilots so had an idea of costs. But the site proclaiming itself as 'friendly', really wasn't; I got jumped on by the owner and the spider! I see they are asking for thousands of USD per month now. Incredible!
However, I recently returned and offered 'I am GAIL'. The spider presently seems to hide behind a pay-wall; just as well. But other baby spiders now jump on the slightest of typos. And there is already another dick trying to lord it by offering a copious analysis, (as if I hadn't done that myself), and his proof-reading skills to the unsuspecting.
